   Political and social unrest has increased in Russia, driven on by corruption, conflict, and growing restrictions.  When a bomb explodes in the Moscow City Hospital, killing thousands including the Russian President, the people rise up against their government.  The country erupts in revolutionary war.

   Kyle Hampton is one of the sixty American college students living in Moscow for the summer learning the language and culture.  When war breaks out, his group is forced to try to escape the city, but a squad of Red Army soldiers stops them before they can reach safety.  Forced into an abandoned warehouse, Army General Sazshen confronts the leader of the American group, accusing him of treason.  The General kills the students’ director, and the students try to flee.  The soldiers open fire, resulting in a massacre.

   Kyle manages to overpower two of the soldiers and escapes. His best friend, Ben, makes it out with him, as does Shannon, the woman Kyle has fallen in love with. Two others escape as well, but their troubles are just beginning.  General Sazshen’s men chase after them, hunting them at every turn. 

   Their problems don’t just stem from outside sources, however.  The dynamics of the group cause problems that interfere with their efforts to survive. 

   The students must learn how to work together, and depend on each other, if they’re to have any hope of surviving. But that hope is paper-thin, for they are far from home, outmanned, and outgunned, racing through a city they barely know as they’re chased by a General who won’t stop until blood has been spilled.
