Where others go...

It's been some time since I've posted anything, which isn't because I don't care. I do. I care a lot. In fact, I'm a great carer (care-er? Care-ish person? You get the idea.).

The reality is I've been quite busy. I've been working on a couple of book ideas--both a thriller and a sci-fi novel. I'm also toying with a series. I might even have a surprise or two for you, when I have the time. On top of that, I've been tweeting on a fairly regular basis (like everything, I wish I tweeted more, but there aren't enough hours in the day).

I've learned a few more things about the publishing world along the way.

I would've done a few things differently, but one thing I wouldn't change is Keres' Eyes. I'm extremely proud of the book, as well as this website. The reviews I've received have meant a great deal to me. Having my writing affect others is so gratifying that it makes the long hours, the editing hell, the mashing over a word here or a description there, challenging myself to become better and surprise you Dear Reader at every turn, worth every struggle.

Thank you.

Now back to writing.

Choices, choices...

With the growing success of Keres' Eyes, I am in the exciting position of figuring out what book I will write next. I have a number of ideas, which range from a sequel to Keres' Eyes to a science fiction novel set in the far future. Don't worry, whatever I write, it will be as relentless as Keres' Eyes (so I guess even if it is technically a set-in-the-future type of science fiction novel, it'll still be a thriller). I am also editing Maze of Shadows, which is ... well, what kind of book is it? Obviously it's a thriller, but it's not really a political thriller. Definitely not a science thriller. Maybe it's just a wild Russian ride. I can't wait for you to read it!

Recent developments

With the continued spread of Ebola, unfortunately my novel is more relevant than ever--not because it talks about Ebola itself but the risks that could happen if people try to take advantage and only think about themselves. We as a society must be cautious and diligent with our knowledge and resources.

Having said that, my thoughts go out to those affected by the outbreak. While there are reports of the virus in the US and Spain, all of the news isn't dire. The number of cases in Africa is declining, which is very good news.
